A special-edition PlayStation controller that was released for BIOHAZARD 2 in Japan. Outside of Japan, the controller was released as the Resident Evil Pad. It was advertized to be compatible with Resident Evil, Resident Evil: Director’s Cut, and Resident Evil 2.

Furthermore, while the controller was intended to be used with the first two Resident Evil games it can be used with several other Resident Evil titles on PlayStation and PlayStation 2 including Resident Evil 3: Nemesis and Resident Evil Code: Veronica X. Spin-off titles, such as Survivor, Dead Aim, Outbreak, and Outbreak File #2 can also be played using the controller as they also allow character movement with the directional buttons, but it is not an optimal control scheme given that the controller was intended to be used with games that retained the movement and shooting controls of the first two Resident Evil games. The same can be said about the PlayStation 2 version of Resident Evil 4, especially because of its aiming and attacking controls.
