This game is based on Kinnikuman, the manga by Yudetamago, and its sequel Kinnikuman Nisei (Ultimate Muscle). It was released in spring 2006 as part of a series of arcade games that recreated iconic Weekly Shonen Jump titles from its golden era with high quality. Players can relive the story of Kinnikuman or fight using their favorite characters in versus mode. Unlike the three previously released Kinnikuman Generations titles, this game is a pure 3D fighting action game. It also featured a tie-in with the pro-wrestling promotion DRAGON GATE.

For some characters, alternate appearances from the original manga are available as 2P color variants (e.g., Warsman → Kroeh, Ramenman → Mongolman). The character select voice calls were performed by Lenne Hardt.
