“Bakusou Dekotora Densetsu” is a series of racing games themed around decorated trucks (Dekotora). Commonly referred to as “Deko-Den”. This game is the first installment in the series. The game features supervision by Misao Sekiguchi of Sekiguchi Kougei Co., Ltd., a company known for creating many paint designs for decorated trucks (Dekotora). In the game, Sekiguchi appears as the shop owner who dresses up the trucks and provides advice to the player.

The background music during races incorporates enka, featuring songs by Hiroshi Kitaoka, Hiroko Ando (Hiroko Agata), and others, with Chiyomaru Shikura participating as a composer.

The game is characterized by its simplicity, where mastering the gas pedal and lane changes is sufficient to clear it. It also features enka-style game music, live-action images, and voices unified in a rebellious “tsuppari” style. Despite the ability to earn money during the story, the only use for it is decorating the trucks. These aspects give the game a lack of realism, almost mocking the Dekotora culture.
