Kaidou Battle takes place in four different passes: Hakone, in the Kanagawa prefecture west of Tokyo; Haruna, in Gunma prefecture to the northwest of the bay; Nikko, in neighboring Tochigi prefecture; and finally Rokkou Pass, in Hyogo prefecture near Kobe, which also appears in Auto Modellista. The stages are designed based on aerial photographs and geographical survey maps, so as to accurately reproduce the roads in three dimensions. Horizontal curves and vertical undulations are apparently quite true to life.

More than 100 cars are included, and like those in the recently-announced Shutokou Battle 01, they bear the official license of their manufacturers, along with their real names and logos. It seems as if Genki has entirely given up its efforts to dance around Japanese copyright law, which should certainly be saving its legal department some headaches.
