Phase Paradox is an horror adventure video game developed by SCEI, set in the same universe as Philosoma, which was a shoot-em-up for the Playstation. The story of Phase Paradox tells what happens in the Gallant, a spacecraft carrier which was heavly damaged after the explosion of Planet 220. After which 20% of the crew is either dead or injured by the impact. Some of the survivors are going crazy. But even worst, unknown creatures begin to roam the ship.

The player can choose between three characters, a team made up of Jude, Renee and Alia. The goal of the game will be to survive in environments as intriguing as they are dangerous, and finally to escape from the Gallant.

The gameplay is part “survival-horror” when it come to the exploration and puzzle-solving, as well as the general aesthetic , like with the use of pre-rendered backgrounds; And part “interactive-movie”, since the game does not contain proper combat, instead the player must press a button at certain moments in the game in order to progress in the storyline, in a similar manner to games like Indigo Prophecy and later Until Dawn.
