This installment is the first Shutokou Battle series game to be released for the Xbox 360. The courses are limited to the Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway, meaning that past routes such as the Wangan Line and Yokohane Line are not included. However, this game introduces two new routes: Route 3 Shibuya Line and Route 4 Shinjuku Line. The total number of rivals in the game is 400. Players can now exchange information with rivals at parking areas, and some battles even start from these locations.

More tuning options have been added, allowing for greater customization. The game’s interior details have been enhanced, including the engine bay and cockpit, and players can install additional instruments such as meters. This installment also introduces a time-of-day system, featuring three different time periods: night, midnight, and early morning.
