A 3D sci-fi weapon-based fighting game developed and released by Capcom for arcades (running the PS1-based Sony ZN-2 hardware) on April 1999. The sequel to Star Gladiator Episode I: Final Crusade, Star Gladiator 2 doubles the original game’s roster while revamping some of the gameplay mechanics (such as adding a new super meter system, known as the Plasma Gauge, and removing the dedicated Plasma Combo system). Taking place one year after the initial defeat of the Fourth Empire at the hands of the Star Gladiators, the story brings a new conflict to Planet Zeta, where it’s believed that the Fourth Empire is being rebuilt by a revived Bilstein.
