A first person shooter for the Sega Saturn. It is one of the earliest Japanese attempts at the genre. It uses stage specific tasks such as defeat all enemies or defeat the boss rather than the typical “find the exit” gameplay as seen in e.g. Doom. The game makes heavy use of digitized graphics, a technique also seen in e.g. Mortal Kombat.

The content of the game is roughly divided into two parts: a so-called FPS-style shooting part that progresses from a first-person perspective, and a live-action movie part that depicts the story progress. Although the shooting part is elaborate in terms of system, such as advance strategy planning based on the setting of special forces and customization of armament, it seems that the essential gameplay itself is delicate and the operability is not very good. As for the live-action part, it seems to be the game industry * 1 at the time when live-action videos were actively introduced, and the contents are gorgeous in the middle, such as a large number of performers and shooting locations like dramas. In addition, J-Swat is the name of the special forces that appears in the work. The player is set to belong to S.W.A.T, that is, J.S.W.A.T * 2 in Japan, which was established by the Japanese police to counter the increasing number of violent crimes.
